Misfortunes and New Friends Part II

Cooking With Holly

Holly and i are pretty good friends and we planned to hang out sometime soon. The day we planned to go shopping it was raining so she suggested we make dinner and that she would teach me how to make a Chinese dish :) I was so excited! This whole experience how i met Holly and now learning how to make chinese food to me is what study abroad is kind of all about: Crazy experiences and making new friends. I do wish i could have avoided being locked out hahaha.

I almost forgot! Holly also has a roomate, who cooke with us! They are both sooo nice!

                       Holly                                                                         Holly's Roomate

Let The cooking Begin:

One the Menu we shall be having:

  • Fried Tofu, tomato, and mushroom soup
  • Egg and tomato soup

Laying out all the ingredients!!!!
So i usually dont eat Tofu and have never bought Tofu, so am i the only one who thinks it kind of cool and interestin that they sell it like this:

Cube of Tofu!!!!

we had to cut the Tofu in slices and it was soo soft and jiggly! We nicknamed it "Baby" don't ask but it was really funny! I got to cut some slices too.

After that we fried all of the Tofu

This was the jelly "knorr" seasoning that we added in water and heating up as the "stock". we also added mushrooms and  "Potato", which was in powder form so almost like the powder mashed potato. What was interesting was it tuned into little balls not like mashed potato but still delicious!!

 Taaaa-daaaaa

Next Egg Soup!

we already sliced the tomatoes so we broke open the eggs and added tomamtoes and water= whahalala.

Dinner is Served:

It was absolutely delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

after that we started taking some pictures:

Hahah i love photo-booth

Then we played Mahjong on my iPad. I forgot how we got on the topic of Majong but i showed them and they surprisingly had never played it! Holly asked me how to download it too! hahah

Such a fun night!

Hong Kong: DAY III

MUSEUMS, MARKETS & Parties

The weather in Hong Kong is so good! Back in korea its still a little chilly but I CAN WEAR SHORTS!!! Cannot wait for the summer time!

Museum of Art:

Shayda and I were finally able to go to the museum! I saw the Andy Warhol exhibit poster the day before and i was really excited to see it turns out it comes next month!
It was a pretty big museum i believe 4/6 floors and a good diversity of exhibits.

Here are some of my favourtie pieces( although i dont think we were allowed to take pictures *shhh*):

After the museum we went out to lunch. I decided to be a little adventurous, i usually stick to chicken/beef but having in been in Korea, i have been eating port quite a lot. I decided to get the Pork Rice and salted egg! I really love when dishes come with egg it makes me so happy haha!

After lunch, we decided to got the Big Buddah but by the time we got there it was too late! the fastest way to the buddah is a 45min cable car ride and we didnt have enought time. Off to the Markets we go!

Ladies Market, Stanley Market, Fa Yuen Street.....

street Food! Yum!

I ended up buying a teapot set! The last time i was in Hong Kong i really wanted a teapot set and really happy i got a good price! Alix and shayda did as well! :)
I also impusively bought a bag but i had wanted a electric blue bag so when i saw it i just hackled and got a pretty good price for it! I was happy :)

Being that it was friday, despite being a little tired we had to experience the night life! compared to my last trip, which was more family vacation, i had to go out and see what Hong Kong had to offer in Night life!

Hong Kong: Day II

Itinerary for the Day:

1.Breakfast
2.Hostel check-In--Finally
3.Museum of Art
4. Shopping around Tsim Sha Tsui
5.Symphony Of Lights

What really happened: hahaha

Shayda and I got ready and had breakfast while Alix went on her morning run. She does this every morning even when on vacation, its her way of exploring on the area. Its really is  commendable, i wish i was more disciplined about running like i was when i ran Track. The old days man..

Trying every country's McDonalds is kinda my thing. It may seem stupid and i am not a big Fast food eater-Its All Bout the Rice- but i do indulge occasionally and for the curiousity of seeing how McDonalds caters to its global customers taste. Hong kong has to be my favourite thus far because of the breakfast.

The last time I was in Hong Kong i discovered The Grilled Chicken Pasta Soup, on the Breakfast Menu, and i definitely had to have it again. Look How yummy it is:

It was Delicious!

Ready to Head out!

First Stop: Museum of Art......

But.....

It's Closed on Thursdays.... :(

Its okay because it also happens to be raining really badly at the time so you know what....

Tea & Dim Sum:
we notice this Dim Sum Resturant nearby and we're feeling peckish and Alix and Shayda want to try Dim Sum:
                                                                      "pinkies out guys"

yummy!
After drinking so much Green Tea, and trying almost everything on the menu, we leave.

Being that we still have not checked into our hostel since we missed check in the night we arrived, we head over to our hostel!

So this is my first time staying at a Hostel and I am pretty impressed, good location, cool owner, nice people, and really nice/clean hostel! We stayed at Urban Pack, in Tsim Sha Tsui. It is owned by a guy named Albert who travels year round and previously lived in Tokyo and decided to open an hostel with his friend!

My view, or lack of but, really clean and nicely decorated. After Check-In and we did get reimbursed for the one night we did not stay, which was nice, we head out to explore the area nearby.

we did a little shopping: I saw these cool boots, decided to shop around more and come back if i want them......

Then For dinner:

Pork rice

Symphony of Lights!!!!

A common tourist attraction, but i still think its pretty cool, is the Symphony of Lights. I leave it to wikipedia to explain haha: " synchronised building exterior decorative light and laser multimedia display, featuring 44 buildings on both sides of the Victoria Harbour of Hong Kong accompanied by music." There you have it folks.....

my camera is not so good so i apologize in advance:

Gotta Love selfliess!!

It was really cool, so many lights! After we walked around some more and decided to go for snack or something.

Big Ben Spotted in Hong Kong haha

My throne in Hong Kong!
Although we did not find my chocolate cake in the mall i did get to take a picture with this cool chair haha. Then we had this:

THE BIGGEST COCKTAIL EVAAAA::

The worst part is we drank it solo fast!!! Cosmo Mojito, Yummy!! I was a little perplexed at first but we figured it out haha.

What a day, and a great ending too!

:)
