Orientation: DAY 2

Orientation: DAY 2

Day 2 of orientation was not as long as Day 1. Mostly just signing my name and date on paper over a million times but still very fun!

Things Accomplished:
  • Student ID & Bank Account Registration
  • Life in Seoul workshop
While filling out papers for the Student ID, we had to learn how to write our names in korean!!! This is how my first name, Adedayo

Cool!! :)

Because we werent doing much on Day 2 my group spent most of the time taking pictures lol

Lunch:

strawberries, salad, Rice & chicken w/seaweed, chicken
Conlusion: I DO NOT LIKE THE ORANGE Sauce and i will stick to plain white rice from now on. On a nicer note the strawberries are soo good in korea :)

Break-Time:

Day Two was very short and after the first session everything else was optional so my mini group and i went to Anam street again.
Every time I am in Anam i see this pastry shop and decided to go in.  I got a cream-cheese don ought that kinda looked like a churro but IT WAS DELICIOUS and a sandwich/bread pastry thing which was AWESOME. Im pretty sure i took pictures of them but i cant find it whoopsies! it really interesting that there a lot of french pastry shops around but so far everything is soo good!

when we stopped by a convinient store i saw this and according to Cholook its really good so i'll be back to get one and let you guys know!

Norebang!!!!!!!!!

So Norebang is the equivalent of karaoke however in korea you do not call it that since it is a japanese terms. There are so many Norebang places in Seoul on Anam street in one block/corner we passed like 4 of them. And its quite cheap! we paid 9000KRW for 2 hours and thats a set price! I do have videos but i'll try and upload them another time:

More but i cant remember.. SOOOOOOO MUCH FUN, definitely plan on doing it again and with more people!

HomePlus
Then i went to Homeplus which is like a costco it has food and home goods. I needed a blanket lol! It was also my first time taking the train in Korea so that was cool.

KU has its own stop just like GWU :)

MJ!!!!!!

I thought this was cool the "escalators" were inclined and not individual steps

I also did some food shopping! I really like korean bread!!!! so i got some, and some noodles to try since i don't know what brand or type i like and i got some rice lol and some cups and plates! i can keep buying food everyday, have to save some money!!!!

Beer & Chicken:

Our last orientation/KUBA event for now was going to get Beer and Chicken with our whole group! Group 8! it was really interesting we had two types of chicken, one with the orange sauce but this time it was good, and regular fried chicken but there was looooots of garlic on it! i didn't like the garlic but the chicken was good!
Then afterwards we went to another eating/ hangout spot where other groups came to hang out also.

MJ, I forget his name, Mark
Mark is also a buddy, he is sooooo cool! when i first met him i thought he was also an exchange student lol!

Biggest pitcher of beer EVER!!!!!!!! ANd they DRANK ALL OF IT ?!?!?!?

this was fish and i don't really like it so i didnt eat it but someone told me to try the soup and that did taste good.

lol Pretzels and chips, radish, salad

french fries!!!! salad, pickles really good

the famous soju!

at the other hang out spot, soooo many people!

Orientation is now over and classes start on monday but it was such a great experience, met great people and got a lot done! hopefully i get to meet the KUBA buddies more throughout the semester and hang out with my group!!!!!
